The Williams Lake RCMP say they were called to Tyee Lake on March 23 at 5:19pm, when it was reported that a UTV travelling on the lake had gone through the ice, and sadly, a young child had died.
"As spring arrives and we see more and more warmer days, we would like to remind everyone to be aware of the rapidly changing conditions of ice on our area lakes and ponds," notes a press release.
Williams Lake RCMP are assisting BC Coroners Service, who has conduct of the investigation. There are no further details available.
