Crown counsel has approved a charge of attempted murder against a suspect in relation to Friday's shooting outside a Prince George apartment building.

Jamie Wade Fatum, 24, also faces one count each of pointing a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm, according to court records.

RCMP were first called to the scene near 17th and Upland at 12:20 a.m. where they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Officers initiated first aid until medical first responders arrived and the man was subsequently rushed to hospital.

Other than to say more than one person was arrested at a Giscome-area home later the same day, RCMP have remained tight-lipped about the incident.

Court records indicate Fatum has no criminal record although he faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking from a July 2015 arrest.
