FREDERICTON — RCMP in New Brunswick are investigating after a vehicle plunged into a river in Moncton, leaving two men dead.

They say in a news release that officers were called to reports of a vehicle submerged in Halls Creek, next to Church Street and Clement-Cormier Street in Moncton, on Tuesday morning.

Police say two men, aged 33 and 24, were found dead inside the vehicle.

They say a traffic reconstructionist and the coroner's office are helping with the investigation.

Police are asking anyone with dashcam or doorbell footage of the crash to come forward.

Autopsies have been scheduled to determine the men's causes of death.
