The Chetwynd RCMP says the Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called to Chetwynd home in Wabi Crescent on Feb. 21 at 6:14 pm to remove man with a firearm.
"It was reported that an adult man, a resident of the home, was destroying property within the house. When police attended the home the man stated that he had a firearm and threatened to use the firearm," notes a press release. ERT was called for assistance, after attempts to have the man exit the home were unsuccessful.
ERT was able to remove the man without further incident, who was uninjured. He remains in police custody and could face multiple charges. An investigation is ongoing.
