UPDATE: Hwy 1 reopens near Revelstoke after fiery crash

2:30 p.m.

The Trans-Canada Highway has reopened Saturday afternoon west of Revelstoke after a fiery semi-truck crash closed the highway all morning. 

The serious crash occurred at about 8:30 a.m. near Three Valley Gap. 

While the highway has now been reopened, DriveBC warns of "major delays" for drivers in the area. 

11:30 a.m.

Drive BC is now estimating that the Trans-Canada Highway will reopen around 2 p.m. this afternoon, following a major vehicle incident.

The crash occurred near Three Valley Gap and emergency crew are still on scene.

The Trans-Canada Highway remains closed west of Revelstoke Saturday morning, following a serious crash near Three Valley Gap. 

While DriveBC initially estimated the road would reopen by 1:30 p.m., it's since changed its tune, saying a reopening time is unknown. 

The nature of the crash, and condition of those involved, is unknown at this time, but snow was falling heavily in the area at the time of the crash. 

Photos from the scene show at least one semi-truck fully engulfed in flames.
