A court case involving conspiracy to commit murder, drug trafficking and weapons charges across the Lower Mainland is nearing a resolution, Crown and defence lawyers told a Vancouver Provincial Court judge on March 2.
The accused is Brandon Shiu Nandan of Cloverdale and the 16 charges span Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey and Langley.
Nandan is charged with conspiring in Burnaby with another and counselling them to murder a third person between September and December 2020.
He is also charged with possessing in Surrey a Polymer80 PF940C 9mm pistol without a licence or registration certificate and possessing a prohibited weapon — a GSG-16 semi-automatic, 22-calibre rifle without licence or registration.
Nandan was also prohibited by a court order from possessing the latter form of firearm.
He is further charged with two counts of possession of firearms silencers in Burnaby.
Nandan is also charged with possessing a 933-calibre CZ model TT9 semi-automatic pistol without a licence. Another charge relates to possession of a dangerous weapon.
There is also a charge of conspiracy to assault with a weapon relating to Burnaby, Surrey and Langley.
Nandan faces five charges related to possession for the purposes of trafficking methamphetamine, fentanyl, carfentanil and cocaine.
Judge Harbans Dhillon accepted an adjournment request due to a defence lawyer’s illness.
Nandan returns to court on April 13.
