Drive BC is reporting that the Coquihalla is once again clear in both directions.

12:45 p.m.

Multiple spun out vehicles are causing havoc on the Coquihalla today.

The northbound lanes near the Great Bear Snowshed (north of Hope) are causing delays of up to an hour as cars block the highway, according to Drive BC.

"Multiple spun out vehicles causing heavy delays. If you don't have winter approved tires and aren't prepared to travel in these conditions, stay home and keep your coupe clean," the government agency states in a Tweet.

A snowfall alert issued yesterday (Feb. 23) by Environment Canada warned a frontal system would drop up to 25 cm on the highway by tomorrow morning. Drive B.C. states crews are working to keep the highway cleared, but is warning drivers via Twitter to plan ahead and prepare for the snowy conditions.

An update on the situation on the Coquihalla is expected by 2:15 p.m.
