In less than two weeks, Canada will elect its next government.
It can be overwhelming with all of the candidates, their parties, where to vote, what you need to vote and the dates you can vote, so we're here to break it down for you and make it a little easier in the two Prince George ridings.

REGISTRATION
If you have not registered to vote in the upcoming election, there are a number of ways to do so.
- Online - You can use the online registration service before Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. You must prove your identity and address to register.
- In person - You can register and vote at any Elections Canada office across the country before Oct. 15 at 6 p.m., OR
- You can register at your assigned polling station when you go to vote on advance polling days or on general election day (Oct. 21).
There are two Elections Canada offices in Prince George.

If you have recently moved or need to update your voting information, you can do so using the online service or at any Elections Canada office before Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. or on election day (Oct. 21).
POLLING STATIONS AND HOW TO VOTE
Advance polling days are scheduled for:
- Oct. 11
- Oct. 12
- Oct. 13
- Oct. 14
The general voting day is Oct. 21.
Voters should receive their voter cards in the mail, which includes where to vote during advance voting days and on general election day.
You can also use the Elections Canada Voter Information Service.
Polls in British Columbia are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on general election day, while polls are open for advance voting from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
You are also able to vote in person at any Elections Canada offices across Canada before Oct. 15 at 6 p.m.
I.D. YOU WILL NEED TO VOTE
There are three options available for voters to identify themselves.
OPTION ONE
You can show your driver's licence or any other card issued by a Canadian Government (federal, provincial/territorial or local) with your name, photo and current address.
OPTION TWO
You can show two pieces of I.D., but both must have your name and at least one must have your current address. Examples include your voter information card and a bank statement, or a utility bill and student I.D. card.
OPTION THREE
If you don't have I.D., you can still vote if you declare your identity and address in writing, and have someone who knows you and who is assigned to your polling station to vouch for you.
The voucher must be able to prove their own identity and address. A person may vouch for only one person (except in long-term care institutions).
