Mrs. Lovett (Kathy Pereira) sprawls across the lap of Sweeney Todd (Dave Leach) as the two plot vengeance and meat pies during Wednesday's dress rehearsal of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at Vanier Hall.

The Prince George Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with Judy Russell have prepared the musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street based on a play by Christopher Bond with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

A dark tale of murder, wrong doing and vengeance, the play tells how a corrupt judge lusted after Todd's wife, had Todd sent to Australia on false charges, then lured his wife to a masked ball, raping her and driving her mad. Todd returns to discover what has befallen his wife and swears revenge on the judge.

The local production will feature Director Michael Hall and the orchestra on stage as the set flows around them, literally making the music a part of the dastardly thriller.

Four shows are scheduled over the weekend running Friday Nov. 15 to Sunday Nov. 17.
