Downtown Prince George to host Summerfest Saturdays

Each Saturday will have a theme - and a $500 prize package
Downtown Prince George

The Downtown Summerfest may remain on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the area's retailers and restaurants plan to make the next four Saturdays a little more special.

Each of them will have a theme and a corresponding $500 prize.

They start this Saturday when food lovers will be encouraged to check out the patio scene that has popped up at restaurants in the area.

They will also have a chance to win $500 in gift certificates from downtown eateries through Downtown Prince George's website.

On Sat., July 17, stores will be offering special deals and a chance at a $500 shopping spree.

On Sat., July 24, dogs and their owners will be welcomed. There will be a "pet portrait" photo booth and  4 Paws Pure will be giving out free dog treats.

Patrons can also enter to win a $500 package that includes a pet portrait session with Purple Moose Portraits and a $250 Gift Certificate to 4 Paws Pure.

On Sat., July 31, cyclists will get some extra attention with the help of a bike valet at Cycle Logic, where volunteers will also be on hand to register bikes in the 529 Garage anti-theft program.

The prize for that day is a $500 gift certificate from Cycle Logic.

The farmers' markets will continue to run at 1310 3rd Ave. and at Wilson Square where there there will be giveaways of the Downtown Summerfest Saturdays

Colouring Book, created with the help of local artists and Love Downtown PG reusable cloth shopping bags while quantities last.

And on each of those days, someone will win $500 worth of gift certificates to downtown restaurants, merchants, vendors and shops.
