Prince George RCMP have ruled out foul play in the death of a woman who was found unconscious at a 1600-block Ingledew Street apartment building a week ago.
"After many hours of investigation, our Serious Crime Unit has determined the woman’s injuries were not the result of a criminal act and in fact were related to a medical issue. Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the victim," Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said in a statement issued Tuesday.
RCMP had originally suspected the woman was the victim of an assault.
She was discovered unconscious and with serious injuries during the early morning of May 4. She passed away in the hospital several days later.
The woman's name was not released.
