New transit shelters are coming to 31 bus stops this summer.

Upgrades will be made to 31 bus shelters over the next month, B.C. Transit and the City of Prince George announced Thursday, July 4.

Starting Monday, July 8, existing shelters will have glass panels taken out before the entire shelter is removed. The new shelters will have a more modern design and will include new seating and lighting for passenger comfort and safety, states a press release.

Transit users may notice some minor disruptions at their stops during the process.

The first 10 shelters will be constructed starting July 8 with the final shelter expected to be completed by Aug. 2.

Customers are encouraged to use the Umo app, Transit app, Google Transit or any other real-time trip planning app to see trip times and plan their journeys.
