RCMP have released details on a man who remains at large after evading arrest near Tumbler Ridge last week.
Jared Wayne Holland, 28, is described as Caucasian, 175 cms (5’9) tall and weighing 66 kgs (146 lbs) with brown hair, green eyes, although he often wears contact lenses, and with tattoos on both forearms.
Holland was among three people police tried to apprehend last Tuesday, July 20, in connection with thefts of wire and property from resource sites in the Dawson Creek area.
When police attempted to stop their vehicle near Tumbler Ridge, they took off along a forest service road where police boxed it in. But a police vehicle was subsequently rammed by the suspects and they fled into the bush, RCMP said.
One of the three was later located walking along a nearby road and was arrested without incident.
As of Friday both Holland and a woman, whose identity has not been released, remained at large. Holland is also wanted on several warrants in both British Columbia and Alberta, RCMP said.
Police are asking anyone who sees Holland to contact their local RCMP.
"Do not confront or attempt to apprehend Jared Holland," RCMP urged.
