Two more COVID-19 deaths in Northern Health

The COVID-19 death toll in Northern Health rose by two, the Ministry of Health said Wednesday.

The total now stands at 238 for the region since the pandemic broke out.

Seventy-three new cases were reported, up from 57 on Tuesday. After peaking at 115.9 on October 20, the seven day moving average dropped considerably but has since flat-lined at about 80 so far this November, numbers from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control are showing.

Active cases stood at 510 as of Wednesday, down three from the day before. 

Fourty-seven cases are in hospital, up five from Tuesday, while the number in intensive care stood at 18, up by 16.

Province-wide, seven new deaths were reported, for an overall total of 2,281.

Active cases stood at 3,380, with 379 in hospital and 109 in intensive care.

From Nov. 9-15, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 60.8% of cases.and from Nov. 2-15, they accounted for 71.9% of hospitalizations, the Ministry said in a statement.
