The person who allegedly stalked a woman is not the same one now facing a charge in relation to her death.
The Citizen has recently updated an August 9 story regarding the death of Christin West for which Dennis Daniel Gladue now faces a charge of second-degree murder.
The story now includes a response from Prince George RCMP to a comment from her sister that West had posted online about being stalked because she "refused to be somebody's girlfriend" and felt that she wasn't believed by police.
In the response, RCMP confirmed they had received a complaint from Christin West in July, but it was about a different individual and that a thorough investigation into the matter was conducted.
"Police spoke to all of the individuals identified through the course of the investigation," RCMP said. "Ultimately, there was not enough evidence to support charge recommendations and, as an alternative, safety plans were discussed with all parties involved."
The alleged stalker's name was not provided.
West was found dead in her apartment on August 7 and Gladue was subsequently arrested and charged remains in custody.
The RCMP issued its response on August 13 and the Citizen regrets failing to make note of the statement when it was first issued.
