Prince George's Two Rivers Gallery played host to a celebration of Black History Month with the Canvases and Culture event held in the studio area of the gallery on Friday, Feb. 21.
The event was organized by Sanya Stephens, who explained her vision in providing art supplies, music, black history information, food and plants (because she likes plants) to help encourage self-expression and to promote an exchange of culture and ideas.
The approximately 50 people in attendance embraced the ideas behind the event and soon were creating images on the art cards provided as well as listening to music and enjoying the food provided.
