Tourism PG is looking for Northern artists to design a new mural

Selected artists will be given $17,000 for design, materials and installation

Tourism Prince George, with support from Studio 2880 and the Prince George and District Community Arts Council, is seeking artists from across Northern B.C. to submit expressions of interest for a new mural project.

The mural will be featured on one of five shipping containers at a container market set to open soon in Canada Games Plaza. The goal is to transform the container into a vibrant, welcoming centrepiece for the space.

Tourism Prince George hopes the new community hub will connect locals and visitors through art, culture and shared experiences.

Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to apply, including painters, photographers, illustrators and mixed-media artists. Proposals from individual artists, partnerships or collectives are welcome.

Submissions should reflect the themes of inspiration, connection and support, and creatively respond to the unique architecture of a C-can container.

The selected artist or artists will receive a project budget of up to $17,000 for design, materials and installation. Shortlisted applicants will receive a $200 honorarium for full proposals.

The deadline for submissions is April 21.
