The romantic comedy, Dancing Lessons, presented by Miracle Theatre will extend its run until Sunday, April 23, including extra weekend matinees.

The play tells the story of two lonely people each trying to overcome their challenges.

When an injured dancer’s neighbour finds out he needs to get through an awards evening that includes dinner with dancing he turns to the professional dancer next door for help. Soon enough their unique bond grows into something more that will change each of their lives.

Dancing Lessons is directed, designed and produced by Prince George theatre professionals Ted Price and Anne Laughlin. Miracle Theatre is donating the entire proceeds to Prince George’s Share Hope Committee and the Prince George Community Foundation and will support their work with Ukrainian families coming here to find refuge from the war.

“Dancing Lessons is a must see," Mindy Stroet, director of development of the Community Foundation, said. "Not only is this wonderful story very funny and uplifting, it’s an event that is giving to our community. It’s helping to make things better for people right here in Prince George.”

Price and Laughlin cast this production from the national talent pool.

Billy Lake, originally from Newfoundland and now based in Toronto, plays the lonely geoscientist Ever Montgomery and Danielle Klaudt of Vancouver plays the injured dancer, Senga Quinn.

The romantic comedy is presented at the new Knox Performance Centre, 1448 Fifth Ave., at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Brunswick St.

The show goes Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $35 at Books & Co., 1685 Third Ave., in person or by phoning 250-563-6637.
