Prince George’s Method Dance Society’s artistic director, Shelby Richardson and three company dancers Laura Buchanan, Shayla Dyble, and Sloane Zogas, will be headed to Europe this week to attend International festival ‘Camping’ with the Centre National de la Danse in Lyon, France.

The festival takes place in Paris, Pantin and Lyon, with the Lyon component of the festival focusing on the choreographic development for professional dancers and practitioners.

Only 120 participants from around the globe are accepted into the week-long Lyon program and must apply in advance. Dancers will work with internationally recognized choreographers and artists including Katerina Andreou, Christian Rizzo, Emmanuelle Huynh, and Marco Berrettini.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have dancers from our community participating in a festival workshop of this level. Gaining access to an international platform for creativity is critical for developing the practice of dance professionals in the North,” said Richardson.

The dancers will begin workshop classes on Monday June 19 ending with a performance on Friday June 23. The dancers will be sharing their experience over social media so follow their Instagram page @methoddancesociety to stay up to date.
