A second million-dollar victory at Prince George's Treasure Cove Casino

Someone became an instant millionaire playing a PowerBuck slot machine

For the second time in a month-and-a-half, someone has walked out of Prince George’s premier casino as a millionaire.

The Treasure Cove Casino confirms that someone pulled out a victory while playing on a PowerBuck slot machine to claim just over $1 million after very early this morning (Aug. 20) shortly after midnight.

“I’m honestly sitting here trying to wrap my head around it,” marketing manager Amanda Chandler chuckled while speaking with PrinceGeorgeMatters. “It's huge for us. It's sort of like a marketing dream to be able to say that we made two families in Prince George millionaires and that we’ve changed their lives.”

Last month on July 13, Andy and Marlyne Dumoulin won Canada’s largest slot machine prize in history at over $2.1 million on a $3 spin, causing a ruckus in the Treasure Cove Casino as they became surrounded by guards and realizing that they won a big jackpot.

"It was no time at all they were surrounding us downstairs," Andy said. "The guy said he just about spit his coffee out of his mouth when he found out that machine won."

While playing in a casino is based on luck and chance, Chandler is thankful that people are choosing to play at Treasure Cove based on these recent wins.

“You’re always taking a chance when you play,” she said. “We certainly have our good loyal customers who visit us quite frequently and it's so nice to be able to share in that excitement and such as huge as it is, we’re just very happy right now and again, I’m still trying to figure this all out.”

The winner is likely to be contacted soon by the B.C. Lottery Corporation.
