The success continues for young up-and-coming hockey players in Prince George to develop with the Cougars’ coaching brass during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team has released details regarding the third edition of its Pro-D Day series scheduled for Nov. 20, which is the next designated day off for students on the 2020-21 School District 57 (SD57) academic calendar.
The first two sessions on Sept. 25 and Oct. 23 were sold out completely as spots available are limited, but the Cats say they intend to host more camps through the fall and winter.
This time, 24 athletes will be accepted per session.
“During these challenging times, we as an organization felt it was important to offer our support to the local and regional minor hockey community,” said General Manager and Head Coach Mark Lamb in an earlier release as he’ll be joined by current locally-based players and other members of his staff.
“I’m proud that our coaching staff is taking up a leadership role in helping develop our local minor hockey players. We are excited to provide ice sessions not only tailored to the elite level player but also those recreational level players who are looking for a great experience.”
All skill levels in all positions are encouraged to sign up for the one-day event, which costs $35 per player.
