Prince George police are reaching out to the public as they investigate a potential aggravated assault from early this morning (May 3).

According to Mounties, after responding to reports of the alleged incident before 10 a.m., they found a man suffering from what looked like life-threatening injuries at a place on 1200-block, 5 Ave.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment, prompting the RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit to take over the investigation.

While there’s no threat to the public, the Unit believes this was a targeted incident, which has led to police asking local residents for help.

Anyone that saw or heard anything stemming from this alleged aggravated assault between 8 and 9:40 a.m. is asked to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300, anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go online to www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca
