It keeps getting worse with no end in sight.
Canfor announced this evening (June 27) they will be implementing phased summer curtailments in July and Aug. at their Intercontinental and Northwood NBSK pulp mills in Prince George.
"This is due to a significant deterioration in market conditions," Canfor says in a release.
The company adds the combination of supply constraints and higher fibre prices are the reason for the curtailments.
Canfor says the curtailments will reduce their pulp's production output by roughly 70,000 tonnes of NBSK pulp.
"The company intends to resume full production at Intercontinental and Northwood in Sept," the statement concludes.
