Another Prince George man will spend time behind bars after being found in possession of stolen property.
Mounties say during the first part of this month, another spike in Ford F-series trucks being stolen has been noted with most of the models between 1995 and 2008.
In response, police have stepped up vehicle checks of Ford pickups in the community.
On Monday (Dec. 17) at around 1:30 p.m., a Prince George officer saw a vehicle matching the description of a recently stolen Ford F-250 truck. The license plate was run and the vehicle was confirmed to be stolen from Ospika Boulevard on Dec. 16.
A lone male was arrested in the 2100-block Quince Street without incident.
Prince George RCMP says he was also in possession of several knives of various sizes, a small quantity of heroin as well as drug paraphernalia.
Raymond Jarrod Pruden-Collins was charged with the following offences::
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (two counts)
- Failing to comply with undertaking (two counts)
Pruden-Collins appeared in court on Dec. 18 and pled guilty to one count of each offence he was charged with.
He was sentenced to 87 days in jail as well as one-year probation for possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Pruden-Collins was also sentenced to another 30 days behind bars for failing to comply with undertaking.
His sentences will be served concurrently.
