The City of Prince George is now accepting applications for the 2021 myPG Community Awards.
The grants help assist non-profits and other community organizations to develop and implement projects, events and original activities that help make Prince George be a great community.
The city says for 2021 applications amid COVID-19, those who apply encouraged to show innovative approaches to programs and service delivery, that reflect operating environments during the pandemic.
Projects and events should be easily accessible to all backgrounds, ethnicities and income levels.
"In particular, the adjudication committee will be considering the degree to which applicants are responding to emerging service needs, and/or adapting the delivery of an existing program to ensure compliance with public health orders," a city news release says.
Projects and innovations can be big or small and can range anywhere from $900 to $8,000.
Criteria for applications are as follows:
- Increasing community pride
- Encouraging a safe community
- Providing social connections for citizens
- Encouraging physical activity
- Providing opportunities for involvement in arts and culture
- Ensuring equity and inclusion
The deadline for applications is March 15, 2021.
