Do you have an interest in filmmaking and a story to share?

If that sounds like you, then this opportunity might be just right.

Community Stories, a program by Telus’ StoryHive, is coming to Prince George and can help bring your story to the small screen.

The program offers training, mentorship and all the tools needed to complete a short documentary film and it’s coming to three cities including Grande Prairie, Medicine Hat and Prince George.

The program is completely free and you don’t need any film experience to get started.

You just need to have a story that highlights local people, events, cultures, history or places in the community and be willing to attend all of the workshops and modules.

While the program doesn’t provide production grants and is 100 per cent a learning opportunity, once completed participant’s projects could be broadcast on Telus Optik TV on Demand, which is accessible to over one million subscribers in B.C. and Alberta.

The deadline to apply is coming up fast.

Applications must be submitted by March 21, 2020 at 11 a.m. Pacific time.
