Prince George's first snowfall of 2020 is coming with pockets of power outages.
As of this publication (Oct. 16), BC Hydro is reporting nearly 200 local customers without power at the moment.
This includes 136 in the northeast section of the northern capital near Willow River and Giscome.
Electricity went out before 6 a.m. this morning for residents living east of Beaver Forest Road and north of Highway 16.
The cause of the outage is under investigation.
There are under 50 others without power in the Foothills area of Prince George to which its cause is also unknown for residents east of Kluss Road and southwest of Cranbrook Hill Road.
Earlier, BC Hydro said nearly 3,000 customers were without power in the Hart region due to a downed tree across some wires, but was restored around 8 a.m.
The snow is expected to end by Noon, according to Environment Canada, with warnings in effect for Highways 97 and 16 outside the city.
The service is ensuring residents have winter tires on their vehicles before heading north to the Peace or east to the Alberta border.
