BC Wildfire battling blaze near Valemount

It's on the north shore of Kinbasket Lake and is designated 'out of control'

The BC Wildfire Service is dealing with a fire southeast of Valemount near Kinbasket Lake. It's classified as "out of control" but there is no immediate threat to Valemount.

Crews from the BC Wildfire Service are dealing with a fire on the north end of Kinbasket Lake, about 15 kilometres south of Valemount.

The fire, designated G32533, is classified as "out of control," meaning it is spreading or it is anticipated to spread beyond the current perimeter or control line, and is about 38 hectares in size.

It was first reported Friday, Sept. 20.

There's no immediate threat to the village of Valemount, the fire service reported Saturday.
