Crews from the BC Wildfire Service are dealing with a fire on the north end of Kinbasket Lake, about 15 kilometres south of Valemount.
The fire was "highly visible" from Valemount Sunday, the service reported.
"Two initial attack crews are working to establish control lines and put water on the fire, with one helicopter and one piece of heavy equipment supporting ground crews," the service reported via Twitter.
The fire, designated G32533, is classified as "out of control," meaning it is spreading or it is anticipated to spread beyond the current perimeter or control line, and was about 27 hectares in size as of Sunday.
It was first reported Friday, Sept. 20.
