It’s been a busy year for lottery winners in north-central B.C. BCLC is reporting that it paid out 859 million to lottery winners across B.C.,including $59.5 million to players who purchased winning tickets in the northern half of B.C.
BCLC sold more than 101-million winning tickets to players both at retail locations and on PlayNow.com which is the province’s only legal gambling website and the only whose profits go back to support healthcare, education and community programs in B.C.
2023 north-central B.C. lottery highlights include:
- $59.5 million in total prizes paid to players
- 9.4 million winning tickets redeemed
- 2 grand prize-winning tickets redeemed, valued at $500,000 or more
- 1 BC/49 jackpot ticket redeemed
- Bruce Carter and Emiliana Kaftan from Quesnel won the $2-million jackpot.
