In 1934, Charles Bedaux mounted a major expedition to cross northern British Columbia with five Citroen halftrack vehicles and over 100 head of horses.

Crew members were recruited from local trappers, packers, guides and rivermen, including the so-called Bedaux cowboys from the Peace River expedition.

Ross Peck, president of Hudson's Hope Historical Society, will give a talk on the expedition at the University of Northern British Columbia on Wednesday, December 8.

Armed with historical photographs, many of them taken by noted Hollywood cinematographer Floyd Crosby, Peck well tell the story and provide insights into some of the mishaps and hijinks on the infamous expedition.

The talk takes place in 7-152 Student Services Street from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be served followed by viewing of the Bedaux archival exhibition on second and fourth floors of the Geoffrey R. Weller Library and admission is free.
