Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince George is looking to open a social enterprise. This means the organization will "continue to offer the services we do for the community" and generate revenue, said Community Development Co-ordinator, Tim Bennett.

A child care centre is one possibility. Bennett said it would offer subsidized care and provide more options, like summer camps.

Before taking any more steps, they want to determine which specific community need to meet. A 10-question "needs assessment survey" on the Big Brothers Big Sisters web site is intended to give the organization an idea about child care after school and during the summer.

The survey will be available online for "two to three more weeks," Bennett said. Everyone is encouraged to take it.
