School board deputy chair Lois Boone is taking a wait-and-see attitude towards Premier Gordon Campbell's education-related announcements made during a televised speech this week.

Boone found especially troubling Campbell's five-year plan to ensure that every child completing Grade 4 will be reading, writing and doing math at a Grade 4 level by providing new support and training for teachers to identify children's unique.

"That's a goal that we would love to see achieved, the question is how are we going to achieve that, especially given the fact that we've had to reduce supports in our classroom, we've had to increase our class size and we've got some huge issues around classroom composition," Boone said.
