A Prince George man’s life has changed significantly after finding out he was one of the lucky winners of the recent Lotto Max jackpot.
Though he didn’t get the record-$65 million, Brian Dubois was one of two in B.C. who correctly selected six of the seven numbers, plus the bonus, for the secondary prize of $425,809.80 from Tuesday’s draw (June 11).
“It’s disbelief,” says Dubois in a news release. “I was at home on my computer when I found out I won. I checked online to compare the numbers. The first person I told was my wife.”
The 59-year-old says his winnings could mean an early retirement, but he does plan on going back to work on Monday (June 17) for the time-being.
He adds the money may go to some home renovations and a new car.
Dubois is a General Surgeon in Prince George and has lived in B.C. for 15 years.
According to the B.C. Lottery Corporation, the province has claimed over $96 million in 2019 so far from Lotto Max prizes, including a $25.9-million jackpot win by a Merritt resident in February.
