Prince George RCMP have taken down what is believed to be the largest marijuana grow operation ever discovered in B.C.
About 18,000 marijuana plants, with an estimated street value of $2.2 million, have been destroyed after being seized May 27 at a gigantic grow operation in the area of Eaglet Lake near Giscome, located 40 km east of Prince George.
Prince George RCMP arrested three males who were not known to police.Charges of production of marihuana have been laid against 37-year-old Bing Lung Wong of Vancouver, 41-year-old Ye Zhi Qiang and 29-year-old Khue Ba Vu both from the province of Quebec. The marijauna was being grown in 20 makeshift greenhouses while three tents housed the marijauna growers in a remote area that is basically uninhabited.
Police believe others are involved from what has been found in the sleeping and cooking tents. Police continue to investigate and are trying to locate the owner of the property.Check out the photo album in photo galleries in our Media Centre.
