Bites of Bliss is back in business.
After a July 26 fire at the London Hotel on Third Avenue downtown forced the cake shop into a four-month limbo, owner Cindy Klassen has found a new home in the Coast Inn of the North, next to the spa, where she has been up and running since Monday.
At three times the size of the old location, Klassen said the new digs are an improvement and went so far as to call the fire a "divine intervention."
And while Klassen admitted the Coast ranked second among three choices she was looking at for a new home, any initial reservations have been swept away in the short time she's been open.
"I'm absolutely ecstatic," Klassen said. "The Coast has been nothing short of warm and welcoming."
After the fire, Klassen was able to get access to a kitchen in the Hart, at a site where her business was previously located, to bake the cakes she still had on order. But once that work was done, she was effectively out of business until this week.
