Fort St. James National Historic Site is hosting an event called Caledonia Day this weekend.

The event takes place this Saturday Aug. 26 and will include a pie auction, a horseshoe and bocce ball tournament, live music and plenty of games for kids.

The Parks Canada will also have a booth to gather visitors’ thoughts on the future of Fort St. James National Historic Site as they are looking for feedback on the new draft management plan.

The Fort St. James National Historic Site management plan will lay out the future direction for the site including the vision, key strategies and objectives to achieve over the next 10 years.

The first draft of the management plan for Fort St. James National Historic Site was developed with input from Indigenous partners, members of the public and stakeholder organizations during the first phase of consultations in 2022.

The second phase of Indigenous, public and stakeholder consultation is now underway. The purpose of these consultations is to share the draft management plan and provide the opportunity for input to be used to refine the plan.

Parks Canada is inviting the public to visit Fort St. James National Historic Site for Caledonia Days on Aug. 26 and share your thoughts in person.

Those who can’t attend can also fill out an an online survey on the key strategies of the plan or email your comments or questions to [email protected].
