Camping reservations now available at BC Parks

Reservations for the May long weekend open this week
BC Parks

The Ministry of Environment and Parks has announced that provincial park campsite bookings, including for the May long weekend, are now open.

There are 60 new campsites across three BC Parks, the ministry also announced.

These parks include:

  • 30 new campsites at Fintry Provincial Park
  • 17 new walk-in campsites at Rolley Lake Provincial Park
  • 13 new campsites at China Beach Campground in Juan de Fuca Provincial Park, including eight park-side tent sites and five walk-in sites

The 60 new campsites add to the more than 2,000 new sites introduced since 2017.

Improvements have been made to these campgrounds as well. At Fintry Park, a $1.5 million upgrade has added new flush toilets, a service centre with a dishwashing station, a potable water tap and waste and recycling bins.

Rolley Lake Park’s $2 million walk-in campground now features a communal day-use shelter, bike racks, bear-proof storage and picnic tables.

At China Beach, the campground is undergoing further upgrades with two accessible showers and flush toilets set to open in May 2025, alongside the 13 new campsites. Additionally, 33 new campsites (22 drive-in and 11 walk-in) were added in spring 2024 as part of a $2.7 million improvement project.

Reservations for Fintry and Rolley Lake parks will open at 7 a.m. (Pacific time) on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, for arrivals starting May 15, 2025. Reservations for China Beach will open at a later date.

In addition to expanding and upgrading campsites, BC Parks is also focused on restoring areas impacted by recent storms. Golden Ears Park is currently undergoing repairs, including several sections of the Golden Ears Parkway, with a reopening expected in spring 2025.

Work is also ongoing to repair and reopen the final phase of the Berg Lake Trail near Valemount, which was damaged by extreme weather events in 2021 and September 2024. Reservations for backcountry camping along this 23-kilometer trail will be announced once repairs are complete.
