Look for the launch of a multimillion dollar campaign later this year to build the new Canadian Cancer Society lodge to complement the cancer centre opening in 2012.
Peter Goodhand, head of the CCS from Toronto, visited Prince George Tuesday to talk about the campaign and to learn "everything possible" about the local branch of the cancer society, the proposed BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North and northern B.C.
Peter Goodhand said he came not only to learn about the region, but to say thank you to the many people in northern B.C. for ongoing support "which is always the best part of the job."
His main objective was to talk to supporters, staff and volunteers about the upcoming lodge campaign.
"We'll need to raise an estimated $12 to $13 million for the lodge," he said. Read more in The Citizen
