The Canfor Leisure Pool will be closing for annual maintenance between Aug. 7 and Sept. 3.
The new pool opened to the public on Nov. 14.
“The maintenance closure has been scheduled prior to the November anniversary date to allow warranty and outstanding building completion items to be resolved,” a statement issued by the City of Prince George on Monday said. “During the closure swimming lessons will be held at the Prince George Aquatic Centre.”
The Aquatic Centre will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the Aug. 7 BC Day holiday.
Planned maintenance at the Canfor Leisure Pool include interior and exterior painting; window and door maintenance, including automatic door openers; roofing maintenance; adding pool lane storage hangers; audio-visual equipment updates; draining and deep-cleaning the pools; and inspections of the waterslide and NinjaCross course.
The Prince George Aquatic Centre is scheduled to close for maintenance immediately after the Canfor Leisure Pool. It’s planned to closed from Sept. 4 to Oct. 9. During the Aquatic Centre closure, the Canfor Leisure Pool will be open extended hours.
