Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Give a man $200,000, he eats fish for life!
We’re paraphrasing of course, but that may be the new motto for Devin Remanda of northern B.C., who won that money off a scratch ticket, the B.C. Lottery Corporation says.
In a release today (Sept. 14), the Francois Lake fisherman is ‘in a dream’ after discovering his newfound wealth.
“I realized I had won and decided to scan the ticket on my BCLC Lotto! app and it showed up a winner,” Remanda explained.
“I didn't believe it at first, I couldn't believe what I was seeing on the screen.”
Remanda purchased a few Casino Royale Scratch and Win tickets, along with other items, at the Burns Lake Chevron off Highway 16 and North Francois Highway.
Once he found out he won $200,000, he immediately told his family, who were also in shock.
“My mom was so happy that she cried and my father was close to tears.”
Remanda says he plans to use the winnings to buy a new pickup truck and save the rest.
