Provincial Crown counsel has approved charges against two Vanderhoof men in relation to the fatal shooting of a teenage girl two-and-a-half years ago.
Kayne Sabbe Penner, 27, faces charges of manslaughter with a firearm and careless use of a firearm and Richard Borne, 38, faces charges of careless storage of a firearm, careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The charges stem from a Dec. 20, 2012 incident when an 18-year-old girl died in hospital from gunshot injuries suffered in a home in the community 100 km west of Prince George.
Charges against the two were sworn on Thursday.
Penner was released from custody on Friday on $10,000 bail and is scheduled to make a first appearance in Vanderhoof provincial court on Sept. 14.
Borne was released from custody on Thursday on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to make an appearance in Vanderhoof provincial court on July 13.
