The Prince George Citizen enjoyed success at the Ma Murray Awards held Saturday at the River Rock Casino Resort.
The annual event is a presentation of the B.C. and Yukon Community Newspaper Association.
The Citizen reached the podium twice, in a pair of categories particularly important to the newspaper during the emergence from the global economic downturn.
Gord Hoekstra won bronze in the Best Business Writing category, behind only Malcolm Baxter at the Northern Sentinel in Kitimat and gold medalist Mike D'Amour of the Cowichan News Leader Post.
The Citizen's web team, Christine Skorepa and Matt Altizer, took another bronze behind only the Powell River Peak (silver) and the Yukon News (gold) in the Best Website and Online Innovation category.
