City fire crews make short work of latest Moccasin Flats flames

It was the second daylight fire this week, but much smaller than the one on Wednesday

A small fire at Moccasin Flats was quickly extinguished Friday, Sept. 27.

City firefighters had the flames under control within minutes of arriving in a single truck at around 10:30 a.m.

The fire appeared to be confined to small pile of debris outside one of the tiny homes at the Lower Patricia Drive homeless encampment.

There was no sign of any residents as the fire crews worked.

This was the second daylight visit by firefighters to Moccasin Flats this week, and the latest in a string of fires that have happened at the site since last year.
