CNC to host gathering to mark National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The College of New Caledonia (CNC) is welcoming students, faculty, staff and the public on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 for its Calling for Action: Honouring Truth event.

The College of New Caledonia will host a gathering Wednesday, Sept. 25 for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to the Calling for Action: Honouring Truth event at the Gathering Place at the Prince George campus, 3330 22nd Avenue, main entrance). It runs from noon-1 p.m. with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. It will include traditional greetings, drumming and storytelling by elders, students, alumni and CNC leadership.

The event is held in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30. People are encouraged to wear orange in honour and remembrance of the children who never returned home, survivors of residential schools and their families.

It will be followed by bannock tasting and bison chili prepared by students in CNC’s Professional Cook program.

Pay parking will be in effect.
