CNC to host open houses for students and their families

The College of New Caledonia is hosting open house events at each of their six campuses starting Wednesday, Feb. 28 in Mackenzie from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and ending on the Prince George campus on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Prospective students, their families and students who have already been accepted into their courses can explore what CNC has to offer those who live in Northern BC.

“CNC is a community," Cindy Heitman, CNC president, said. "We want to welcome new students to our community and do our absolute best to turn their dreams into reality. No matter what your path is, attending open house is a terrific way to explore the opportunities that await you.”

At CNC’s open house visitors can experience interactive course demonstrations, campus tours, and connect with faculty members in person. Attendees can also learn about student supports such as academic advising, accessibility supports, financial aid, resources and liaison for Indigenous students, student housing, and admissions.

“We can’t wait to welcome community members to all CNC campuses,” Shelley Carter-Rose, CNC’s vice president of student affairs, said. “No matter where you are in the application process or if you are just thinking about college, attending an open house is a great way to create an initial connection and sense of belonging with the campus faculty and staff.”

Open houses at the Quesnel, Burns Lake and Vanderhoof campuses take place Thursday, Feb. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Fort St. James the open house goes Friday, March 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The college encourages pre-registration at http://cnc.bc.ca/openhouse by February 28 for a chance to win a $500 tuition credit.
