“On behalf of the board and staff of the Foundation we are thrilled that we are able to offer increased support to our local charities,” Catherine Pennington, president, Prince George Community Foundation, said. “This would not have been possible without the incredible continuous support of our donors and the community.”
The Foundation aims to improve the well-being and quality life of the community and its residents through financial assistance to non-profit, community-based organizations. The semi-annual granting program is intended to support programs and services in the areas of arts and culture, social services, environment, health, sports and recreation and education. "Over the years, the Prince George Community Foundation has evolved into one of the CAC's most reliable and generous funding partners, in addition to providing us with excellent financial returns via our foundation endowment," Eli Klasner, executive director of the Prince George & District Community Arts Council, said. "With today's announcement of such a significant increase to funding and application opportunities, local charities will be supercharged from this truly transformative initiative, gifted to us by our own local community foundation. We are truly blessed by this development."
