Conservation North is hosting a free public information session on the BC government’s draft of the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health Framework on Friday at the Omineca Arts Centre.
According to the BC government, the results of this engagement process will inform new legislation on biodiversity and ecosystem health.
“The details will be consequential for nature, so want to make sure it’s strong,” Michelle Connolly, Conservation North director, said. “People here have perspectives and knowledge that is different from the south coast, so it’s important that Victoria hears from us on this.”
Residents should provide feedback to the government on the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health Framework because the document will form the basis of a new law, Asta Glembotzki, Conservation North member, added.
There will be a presentation with refreshments and an opportunity to have your voice heard.
The BC government is accepting public feedback until the end of the month.
The event will also be livestreamed.
This free event will be held at Omineca Arts Centre, 369 Victoria St., on Jan. 19, starting at 7 p.m.
