Enhanced COVID-19 precautions are now in place for the special care unit at Gateway Lodge while they have been lifted for the long-term care home's Cedar wing, Northern Health said Thursday.
It said the precautions for the special care unit will be in place until at least December 16 after a single lab-confirmed case was identified in a staff member who works in the unit, located in Gateway's east wing.
It said cleaning and infection control has been enhanced, symptom monitoring increased and movement between the affected wing and the rest of the facility limited in response.
As for the Cedar wing, Northern Health said there has been no evidence of transmission since the precautions for that site were imposed on December 3 and so, the declaration for that section of Gateway has been lifted.
- Integris Credit Union has closed its Town Centre branch at 1532-6th Ave. and adjacent financail planning office until further notice after one of its staff tested positive for COVID-19.
The move was made to "complete additional deep cleaning in order to protect our members, staff, and community," Intregris said in an online posting.
"Additionally, we will make every effort to notify members we believe may have been in contact with the staff member over the last three weeks."
