A broken watermain on 1st Avenue between Lower Patricia Boulevard and Kingston Street requires emergency repairs that could carry on until Friday.
Crews are currently at the site to fix the break, after which the road will need to be repaired and repaved, the city advised on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Nearby businesses will be experience water outages, the city states.
Traffic on Highway 16 east is reduced to alternating two-lane flow in the westbound lane.
The city advises drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area if possible.
