A 35-year-old man is dead after an avalanche took place in northern B.C. this past weekend.
According to RCMP, the Dawson Creek resident was one of two snowmobilers that were in the area near Powder King and Bijoux Falls where the incident occurred.
Mackenzie Mounties responded to the call north of its district before 2 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 28), along with local rescue teams and Avalanche-trained searchers from Prince George.
They eventually found the man buried in the snow and the investigation has since been turned over to the BC Coroners Service to gather the facts of his death.
